Sports Medicine

Dr. Hill specializes in Sports Medicine and is currently serving as the Team Physician for Folsom Lake College and Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom, California.

Dr. Hill applies his medical knowledge to prevent, recognize, manage, and rehabilitate injuries related to sports or recreational activity. This includes  conditioning, strengthening, prevention, and training for all skill levels, from amateurs to highly-trained professionals.

Dr. Hill's passion around sports and exercise medicine, coupled with his in-house, state-of-the-art exercise testing equipment, gives him the advantage to not only treat his patients with preventative and rehabilitative services, but to help his patients excel athletically.

Sports-related injuries and conditions include:

  • Sprains, strains, contusions (bruises), and other soft tissue injuries
  • Concussion management
  • Overuse, running, throwing, and dance injuries
  • Painful tendon disorders (tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, achillies and patellar tendinopathy)

Testing

Athletic Performance Testing at Elevation Physicians will teach athlete's at all levels how to train at the correct intensity for each type of workout, optimizing the body's response and giving athlete's the greatest workout efficiency.

Most people work-out too hard.  Whether it be weight loss, increasing speed or improving endurance -- the most common assumption we hear from athlete's is "No pain, No gain".   Testing your own body's capacitance is the only way to learn the most efficient workout intensities for your unique physiology and get the most out of every workout.

With any structured workout program, each workout should have a specific purpose.  To achieve the ideal response from the body, the stimulation must be specific to the desired adaptation and must allow quick recovery for the next key workout.  Intensity, more than any other variable, determines the body's response to the training stimulus.

Training efficiently means balancing the cost and benefit of each workout.  Every workout has a cost, in terms of recovery.  Every workout also increases fitness.  Efficient workouts provide training benefits that are worth the recovery cost.  Everyone, at any point in time, has certain recovery resources.  While smart athletes develop habits to maximize these resources, they will always be finite, and need to be budgeted.  Anything that is going to expend these resources needs to provide a proportionate benefit.

Preventative Medicine
